Payout rates: where they are written and why lists don’t help

Payout rates: where they are written and why lists don’t help

A slot’s payout rate is neither a secret nor a recommendation — it is a number printed inside the game. You find it in the info panel of the game you opened, usually under "game rules" or "help". Everything that circulates as a list of "best RTP slots" is a copy of unknown age.

The same game, three different rates

Many studios ship a title in several configurations. A documented example from manufacturer material: the same game runs at 96.2%, 94.0% or 88.0% depending on the operator’s setting. For a player that means the rate depends not only on the game but on where it runs — so a list that assigns one fixed number to a title is incomplete at best.

What 96% says about tonight

Nothing. The rate is an average over millions of rounds; across a hundred spins the spread is a multiple of the expected value. Work with what you control instead: 200 spins at 0.20 EUR is 40 EUR staked, and at 96% the expected loss is 1.60 EUR — the actual result almost always differs, in both directions.

Volatility is rarely stated

Two games with the same rate can feel completely different: one pays small amounts often, the other large amounts rarely. That property is volatility, and it is usually given only roughly. If you have a budget, it matters more than the second decimal of the rate. How table rules do the same thing is in our piece on live tables.

For this operator, none of it is verifiable

The operator’s site answered our requests with HTTP 403 on 14 October 2026, saying the service is not legally available in the visitor’s country. Neither the game selection nor a single payout rate can be checked from outside. Third-party sites carrying the same brand name claim 3,200, 3,800 and 5,470 games — three figures that refute each other. How loyalty schemes turn play into percentages is in loyalty schemes, with the arithmetic; where the German rules of play come from is in German gaming traditions, and which player-protection technology is actually in use is in AI in player protection.

For the vocabulary itself, the sober overview of gambling is a better start than any promotional page.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the payout rate that applies?
In the info panel of the game you opened, usually under "game rules" or "help". That figure applies to the version running at this operator — a list on the web cannot know it.

Are there slots with a 99% payout rate?
A few old titles are listed with such values, usually only at maximum stake and without a jackpot share. Check both in the info panel before applying the number to your own stake.

Can this operator’s rate be checked?
No. Its site is blocked for our region (HTTP 403, checked 14 October 2026), and third-party sites using the brand name give contradictory figures.
